An Independent Medical Evaluation with a Medical Opinion (Nexus Statement) can help to support your mental health claim. This can be submitted as part of your disability claim when applying for VA Benefits.

Your Independent Medical Evaluation will include a DSM-5 diagnosis that is based on your service stressor and related mental health symptoms, secondary to the stressor event. A nexus statement will be included, linking your diagnosis to your stressor event.
